Having spent time living in Malibu, Studio City and of course, her home state of Tennessee, Miley Cyrus has accumulated an incredible collection of jaw-dropping real estate over the years. After unloading her Tennessee ranch and Hidden Hills homes, today she still has the deeds to her Studio City home, which she bought around a decade ago and she has just snapped up a new home in Malibu. Born into a famous family, let's take a look at her luxury property journey.

Thrust straight into the limelight, Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on 23 November 1992 to singer Billy Ray Cyrus and actress Tish Cyrus. One of six siblings, as a child, her sunny disposition earned her the nickname 'smiley Miley'. The fun moniker stuck and in 2008 she legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus.

Before she was famous, Miley lived in this quaint farmhouse with her family until she was 14 years old. Located in Thompson's Station, a town in Williamson County, Tennessee, hidden from the road the home is surrounded by around 500 acres of land. With her father determined to keep his children out of the spotlight, it was the perfect place to grow up away from the bright lights of the city.

Despite Billy Ray's apprehensions, after a small role in her father's TV series Doc, and a part in Tim Burton's Big Fish, in 2003, at the age of 11, Miley auditioned for a role in Hannah Montana. Miley secured the lead role in the popular Disney Channel series about a girl who lives a double life as a normal teenage student and a pop star. The first episode was aired in 2006 and lasted five years with the final season showing in 2011.

It wasn't until the start of filming Hannah Montana that the Cyrus family decided to up sticks from their country Tennessee home to this glamorous property in Toluca Lake, California. The perfect location for the Disney Studios, this was where Miley spent most of her teenage years growing up and finding her feet in the world of stardom.

The Tuscan-style property is tucked away behind high walls and a private gate. Accessed by a long winding driveway, it was designed and built in 2007 by architect Bob Easton, so would have been brand new when the Cyrus family moved in. The grand entrance hallway with a curved iron wrought staircase leads to the formal rooms that open out to the view of the lush garden through arched windows.

Spread over 8,700 square feet, the home has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms and all the amenities a family could ever need including a home theatre and a guitar display room.

The glamorous master bedroom is spread over two levels and boasts a rooftop terrace with a fireplace and large walk-in wardrobes. After the end of Hannah Montana, the rest of the family moved back to Tennessee and the home was placed into a trust for Miley. In 2015 the star put the home on the market after numerous break-in attempts, at an asking price of just shy of $6 million (£5.1m), which she went on to sell for that same amount.

Miley wasted no time in shedding her Disney image after the end of Hannah Montana and quickly started up a singing career. She overhauled her look and went on to release her first studio album separate from Disney in 2013. Bangerz signalled a new era for the star and she went on to release four more albums. Over the course of her career, Miley has also won a whole host of awards including the world's best female artist at the 2014 World Music Awards.

Described as Miley's party pad, the singer was reported to host wild parties at the home. It was also rumoured to have a $10,700 (£9k) toilet, a $53,000 (£45k)-a-year chef and a four-person $26,000 (£22k) tipi in the garden which she put up for her 21st birthday celebrations in 2013.

After selling her Los Angeles home in 2015, Miley used the money to buy this equestrian ranch in Hidden Hills, California. Paying $5 million (£4.3m) for the property that sits on over five acres of land, it was the perfect retreat for the busy star as she was just about to host the VMA's which caused a whole host of controversy as she tried to forge a fresh start in her career.

Spread over 6,500 square feet, the main home on the estate has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. The central living space is the perfect place to kick back and relax with an open-plan layout it boasts vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, wide-plank wood and brick finishes for a rustic feel.

The master bedroom is fit for the most high profile of stars with a cosy stone fireplace and French doors that lead outside to the sprawling grounds. Elsewhere the property is also home to some jaw-dropping amenities including a wet bar, a 1,000 bottle wine cellar and an outdoor pool.

Perfect for the horse-loving star, the house is surrounded by paddocks, a chicken coop with a henhouse and a vineyard with 550 grapevines. Just three years after she snapped it up, Miley decided to part ways with the home in 2018 and sold it for $5 million (£4.3m), in an off-market deal, not long before she married her then-boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.

The star chose the home as it was near then-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's home, and reportedly the couple used it as a creative studio and guest house. Located in a super-secure gated community, the contemporary house has an unusual exterior that's been painted in a fetching turquoise hue.

Sadly the couple's main residence, did not fare as well. Liam shared this devastating image of his property to his social media accounts showing what was left of the residence. Miley went on to sell her home in January 2020 for $1.7 million (£1.4m), just days before finalising her divorce from Liam Hemsworth.

Though never on the market, Miley’s Franklin ranch racked up one of the region's most expensive property deals of 2022 when she sold it for $14.5 million (£12.4m) in August 2022. In July 2020, just weeks before she split from her new boyfriend Cody Simpson, Miley bought this Hidden Hills home for just shy of $5 million (£4.3m). Built in the mid-1950s, the classic clapboard home has been redesigned for modern living inside.

The huge arched windows are a feature in the formal living and dining rooms, which sits just inside the front door. With vaulted ceilings and French doors that lead outside, the beautiful living space boasts a fresh all-white colour scheme and minimalistic décor.

With an open-plan layout, it leads through to the casual family room with a fireplace and more French doors. Heading outside, the lagoon-style swimming pool is surrounded by an open-air pavilion that houses an outdoor kitchen and an easily accessible dining area. In 2021, less than a year after snapping it up and after giving it a colourful makeover with mum interior designer Tish, the star reportedly sold it for $7.2 million (£6.1m).

After selling up her Hidden Hills home in 2021 and selling off her Tennessee ranch in August 2022, the 'We Can’t Stop' singer didn’t look too far afield before buying another house in Malibu, near where she previously lived with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The recently-refurbished residence sits within a private, gated community where she'll live alongside fellow pop star neighbours including Lady Gaga and Avril Lavigne.

The contemporary Mediterranean-style estate was built in 1999 and cost Cyrus a reported $7.9 million (£6.7m). The ultimate in open-plan living, Miley’s new two-story entrance opens out into three entertaining rooms including this formal dining room, a billiards room and a cosy living room complete with fireplace and piano—ideal for the songwriter to work on new material.

Stretching over 6,500 square feet of living space, the six-bedroom mansion is awash with fresh white walls brightly lit via large floor-to-ceiling windows throughout and flush recessed spot lighting. Meanwhile, the kitchen is outfitted with premium stainless appliances, granite worktops and a butler’s pantry.

Miley’s primary suite upstairs boasts another fireplace for cosy nights in when she’s not lighting up the stage on tour—alongside a seating area, bathroom with built-in tub and a covetable private balcony. The Nashville-native can enjoy idyllic ocean views from her own bedroom, while her guests can enjoy one of five ensuite bedrooms with matching neutral décor.
