Airbnb

Twilight, Bella Swan’s house: Oregon, USA

This charming 1930s home in downtown St. Helens, Oregon, was Charlie and Bella Swan’s place in Forks, Washington State, in the Twilight movie series.

The entire property, where actors Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner filmed, is available to rent and much of the original set is retained.

With five beds, it’s perfect for a family or group of friends. You can dine at Charlie’s actual dining table, check out Bella’s bedding on display and take photos with cardboard cut-outs of the main characters.

Want to get out? Stroll to the historic riverfront area or drive to Portland.

Airbnb

Normal People, Marianne’s Italian villa: Stimigliano, Italy

Are you a fan of the screen adaption of Sally Rooney’s book Normal People? If so, the Italian farmhouse where Marianne and Connell spend the summer is available on Airbnb.

While that part of the story is set in Trieste, the real-life villa is in Stimigliano, just north of Rome. But don’t worry, the bright blue pool and charming piazza where the main characters buy gelato really exist.

The quintessential Italian home can accommodate six guests with two large bedrooms, a dining room, living room, kitchenette and bathroom.

Past visitors rave about its rural surroundings and proximity to beautiful villages.

Airbnb

The Castle, the Kerrigan's holiday home: Victoria, Australia

In the 1997 Australian classic The Castle, the Kerrigan family love their holiday home despite its location next to the runway at Melbourne's airport and eyesore electricity pylons.

Available on Airbnb, you can book a stay in the three-bedroom 'castle' which is actually located in Bonnie Doon, a small village in Victoria, Australia.

You’ll have the entire home to yourself, which includes a kitchen, coffee machine, living room with a fireplace, and patio and grill.

From here you can enjoy the serenity of its location (a phrase the dad Darryl Kerrigan uses to describe it) next to Lake Eildon and Mount Buller.

Airbnb

Killing Eve, Villanelle’s Barcelona apartment: Barcelona, Spain

In popular BBC drama Killing Eve, serial killer Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, not only has great dress sense but amazing apartments too. In season three of the murder series, she stayed in this palatial flat in Barcelona.

Built in 1906 in the Art Nouveau style, it has high, ornate ceilings, floor-to-ceiling balcony doors and a fireplace.

Offspring, Dr Nina Proudman’s house: Victoria, Australia

In real life, the spacious, three-bed property is owned by interior designer Kali Cavanagh. It has high ceilings and huge windows flooding the inside with light, as well as photoshoot-ready furnishings and plenty of house plants.

Meanwhile, the suburb Fitzroy has an artsy reputation and is popular with young people.

Airbnb

The Bachelorette, rustic windmill: Nikithianos, Greece

Only The Bachelorette fans will recognize this rustic windmill in Nikithianos, Greece.

It made an appearance on an episode of ABC’s hit reality dating show in 2019 and fans haven’t been able to stop talking about it since.

The village Nikithianos, on the island of Crete, is known for its windmills and with views over the valley and olive groves, this one-bed property makes for a romantic rural stay.

Guests love its cozy interiors and say the nearby town of Limnes is worth a visit too.

Airbnb

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godric’s Hollow: Suffolk, England

In the Suffolk countryside is the medieval village of Lavenham and filming location for Godric’s Hollow in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

De Vere House was the fateful setting for the murder of Harry’s parents by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. Its hand-carved wooden front door, exposed brick walls, low ceilings and four-poster beds make it the perfect spooky stay.

On Airbnb, the property has two separate listings so you may share the house with other guests. Visitors have a private sitting room with a log fire and TV, and in the morning the host will cook you a full English breakfast.

The perfect start to the day before you head out to explore local historic sites.

Airbnb

Fleming Villa: Oracabessa, Jamaica

This gorgeous Caribbean escape might not have featured in any James Bond films, but it is the former home of the author of the iconic spy novels. Available to rent on Airbnb, the villa is perfect for any visitor looking to channel their inner 007.

Boasting picturesque views of the Caribbean Sea, the villa sits along the stunning beachfront of GoldenEye Resort and is where Ian Fleming penned many of his famous works.

The boho-chic villa offers three bedrooms in the main house and a further two bedrooms, one in the pool house and one in the Sweet Spot Cottage. Outdoors guests will find a lagoon-style pool as well as sunloungers and a hammock slung between the trees.

Guests can also request a personal butler service and a private chef.

Airbnb

Too Hot to Handle villa: Casa Tau, Nayarit, Mexico

Featured on season one of Netflix's hit show Too Hot to Handle, this luxury villa is set in a prestigious beachfront community in Punta Mita on Mexico's Pacific coast. With 12 en suite bedrooms, spacious indoor areas and a well-equipped terrace, there's enough space to accommodate up to 27 guests (or 10 singletons ready to find love).

Pictured is the thatched cabana, famous as the setting for Lana's nerve-wrecking announcements.

The luxury villa also offers an infinity pool and a private slice of the beach where viewers first got to meet the cast of season one.

Although Casa Tau has been swapped in favor of a villa in Turks & Caicos for seasons two and three, it's still an extremely sought-after holiday destination and will set you back around $15,600 a night.

Airbnb

Stranger Things, Byers House: Georgia, USA

Fans of the hit TV series Stranger Things will immediately recognize this unassuming home on the outskirts of Fayetteville in Georgia as the family home of the Byers… and a portal to the Upside Down.

In Stranger Things, the Upside Down is a parallel reality that mirrors our world but in a dark and twisted way, and where young Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, spent most of the first season trapped.

Airbnb

Stranger Things, Byers House: Georgia, USA

Located just 20 minutes from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport, the property is now a fully furnished, Stranger Things-themed Airbnb rental.

While it was only used for exterior shots, the owners have meticulously decorated the interior to match that of that scene in the series, including the Ouija Wall (pictured) by which Winona Ryder’s character, Joyce Byers, attempts to communicate with her missing son.

Airbnb

Groundhog Day, Phil Connors’ room: Illinois, USA

If you get the feeling you’ve seen this charming Victorian B&B before, it’s because you probably have. It’s where Bill Murray’s character, Phil Connors, stayed while he waited for Punxsutawney Phil to predict whether winter was over or not in Groundhog Day.

The movie is set in the fictional town of Punxsutawney in Pennsylvania. You’ll find the real B&B, the Cherry Tree Inn, in Woodstock, Illinois.

Airbnb

Groundhog Day, Phil Connors’ room: Illinois, USA

Bill Murray's character stayed in the Cherry Tree Inn’s Magnolia Suite. Located in the northeast corner of the house, it features a bay window overlooking the famous view from the movie.

Sadly, there’s no clock radio alarm set to go off at 7am with a quick blast of I Got You Babe. But the room is comfortable with all the modern amenities and a promise from the owners that your stay will be anything but stuffy and repetitive.

Airbnb

Girls, Shoshanna’s Apartment: Tokyo, Japan

While the TV series Girls famously follows the lives of four young women living in New York, season five saw one of the main characters, Shoshanna, played by Zosia Mamet, taking up a marketing job in Japan.

Shosh feels immediately at home, no doubt helped by this extraordinary Tokyo apartment that is as unique and quirky as her character.

Airbnb

Girls, Shoshanna’s Apartment: Tokyo, Japan

Known as the Reversible Destiny Loft, the womb-like lodging was created by architects/artists Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins. Its owner claims that it will naturally increase your perceptual and motor skills.

Available on Airbnb for short visits, the apartment is as much an artwork as a living space and a truly unforgettable introduction to the more ‘out there’ side of Japanese culture.
