This famed Saturday Night Live star is the well-known ‘King of Staten Island’ having hailed from the New York City borough and starring in a semi-autobiographical film of the same name in 2020. While living the VIP life with famous friends, and even more famous girlfriends, Pete Davidson actually lived with his beloved mother, Amy Waters Davidson until April 2021…

According to Page Six, the mother-and-son duo purchased the Staten Island house in 2019 for $1.3 million where his younger sister, Casey still lives too. The four-bedroom home spans 3,760 square-foot of living space over the first and second floors, but where did the comedian rest his head?

The former Ariana Grande fiancé and Kim Kardashian beau explained on an episode of The Tonight Show that he almost had his own apartment in the basement—totalling a further 1,250 square-feet. One listing describes the “beautiful custom kitchen”, “gorgeous finishes” and high ceilings throughout—we’re sure there was enough space for the family to cohabit peacefully.

The four-bedroom home also hosts four full bathrooms hosting “every conceivable upgrade and luxurious feature” as per the listing. Davidson describes how he wanted to call his basement dwelling ‘The Man Cave’ but was reportedly dissuaded by his friend and comedy partner, John Mulaney who preferred the title ‘The Basement’.

The SNL cast member was said to have moved back into the home after his engagement with Ariana Grande ended, but does he still live there now? According to reports, Pete finally moved out in April 2021, moving into his own high rise luxury condo—in Staten Island of course.

How the Barbie star took care of her mother

Like many young actors just starting out, Margot Robbie was helped out financially by her mother in the early days. However, most wannabe performers don't go on to become A-list Hollywood stars with a string of hit movies to their name and – most importantly – the bank balance to match. But Margot isn't your average actress – or daughter – and she was determined to pay her mother back every last cent. "Everything I owed my mom, I had it written down," she recently revealed to CBS Sunday Morning.

Living the dream

Margot went on to reveal that Sari would "take money out of the... house mortgage [to] lend me money. So I always knew, I was like, 'I gotta pay that back'." After landing a role in Australian soap Neighbours and the soaring success of her first major film The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot had a little surprise to thank her mother for her support. "One day, when I made enough money, I just paid that whole mortgage off completely. "I was like, 'Mom, don't even worry about that mortgage anymore. It doesn't even exist anymore." The actor and producer insisted anyone would do the same in her position and added that, although she's hardworking, she's also the "luckiest, luckiest, luckiest person in the world".

Now one of the world's most popular up-and-coming actors, the star boasts a net worth of around $40 million (£21m). It was back in 2014, a year after landing her first major film role, Robbie paid off her mother’s entire mortgage as a gift for her 60th birthday. Margot had actually grown up in the four-bedroom house, which is situated in the Broadbeach suburb of Gold Coast, Australia.

Inside, the property boasts an open-plan living room, complete with a dining zone and kitchen, which flows out to a sheltered alfresco area, surrounded by a yard full of tropical plants. To Margot and her family, it really was a dream home.

Some of the home's four bedrooms benefit from skyline and Gold Coast hinterland views, while this lovely space looks out over the backyard. Light-filled and modern, the property is clearly a perfect family home. While the home is modest by superstar standards, Margot has since splashed out on some seriously pricey pads to complete her property portfolio.

Outside there's a lovely swimming pool and a dining space, perfect for making the most of Australia's enviable climate. In October 2018, Sarie decided to wave the house goodbye. It was meant to go up for auction but ended up securing an early buyer. In August that same year, Margot reportedly splashed a generous AUD$2.5 million ($1.7m) on two modern side-by-side homes for her mother and sister on the Gold Coast. "We have seen Margot here a couple of times, but she keeps her arrival very low key," a neighbor told the Daily Mail. "She blends in just like she's a local, which she can do easily as she grew up around here, of course."

Celine Dion and her mother Therese Tanguay-Dion

Three years after losing her mother, Celine Dion listed Therese Tanguay-Dion’s Montreal home. A TV personality in her own right, Maman Dion – as she was affectionately known in Canada – co-wrote her daughter’s very first song, which propelled her to stardom. Built in 2002, it’s unclear when exactly Therese moved into the elegant home, but city tax records identify Celine Dion as the owner. If so, she wouldn’t be the first celebrity to buy their parent a lavish home to thank them for their support.

RE/MAX Platine

Priced at CA$2.4 million ($1.8m), Therese’s former home lies on the banks of the Rivière des Mille Îles, in Laval, just outside Montreal. Billed by the estate agent as an ideal home for inter-generational living, the 5,000-square-foot house is essentially split into two. Despite having a modest three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the two-story mansion has two kitchens, two dens and two walk-in closets, as well as a workshop, office, sewing room, laundry room and space for six cars.

RE/MAX Platine

At the heart of the 16-room home lies the beautiful sunroom, which opens out from the kitchen and dining room and must have been a wonderful space for the matriarch to spend time with her enormous family – Celine is the youngest of 14 children and all but one survive their mother.  With a fireplace and views of the river, the solarium is the perfect spot to cozy up with family and enjoy even the chilliest Canadian winter. Decorated simply throughout, there are wooden floors in almost every room, as well as carved fireplace surrounds, intricate moldings and interior and exterior columns. Despite these grand details, the house has a warm, relaxed atmosphere and it’s easy to see why it was chosen for Therese to live out her final years.

RE/MAX Platine

Almost one-third of the French-speaking neighborhood is home to people aged 65 and over and is described in the listing as a ‘haven of peace.’ This may have appealed to the matriarch after years in the spotlight, first as a well-known stage mother and later as the presenter of a cookery show. She even had her own line of food products, Pâtés de Maman Dion. Her ambition clearly rubbed off on her daughter, who has won 5 Grammy Awards, 7 Billboard Music Awards and 20 Juno Awards over her career. However, performing has recently taken a back seat after the singer was diagnosed with the rare illness Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

Therese died in her Laval home aged 92, surrounded by her children. “We told stories. We sang songs. We hugged each other and we said our goodbyes,” the songstress revealed. “We are pretty sure that mom waited for us to be all together before departing.” Celine and her mother remained close until Therese’s death in January 2020, even living in the same neighborhood until 2016, when the Canadian singer sold her home on a nearby private island.

Cardi B and her mother, Clara Almánzar

In 2018, the hugely successful rapper, producer and reality television star, Cardi B made her dream come true of buying her mum, Clara Almánzar, a house. Now worth an estimated $40 million, the Grammy award-winning, triple platinum musician wasn’t quite able to afford to buy her mum the New York-based pad she wanted to in 2017. By 2018, however, her career had soared and her bank balance soon followed…

After the success of her single ‘Bodak Yellow’ in 2017, followed by her third US number one 'Girls Like You’, Cardi B was finally able to drop $1.5 million on a multi-floor manse in New Jersey. Purchased for her mum, the rapper quickly took to Instagram to show off the interiors complete with marble and hardwood flooring. Cardi is heard saying it is the happiest day of her life as she films the spacious chef's kitchen with a large granite island, ready for her mum to truly cook up a storm.

Heading upstairs via the ornate wrought iron staircase, Cardi continues to excitedly give her followers a tour around the eight-bedroom manse yet to be furnished but brimming with potential to become a cozy family home. She goes on to describe her happiness that when her daughter, Kulture—born in July 2018—visits her grandma’s house, “she’s going to come here, with all her friends.”

Demi Lovato and family

With an impressive career spanning almost 20 years, it's no wonder that American singer and actor Demi Lovato has built such an impressive property portfolio. The Heart Attack singer is thought to be worth a cool $40 million, but by the time they were 18 years old, they'd already bought their family (pictured here) a brand-new home. Let's take a look around...

Sotheby's International Realty

Demi Lovato bought a family home at 18-years-old

Demi paid $2.3 million for the house in September 2010, and we can totally see why. The stylish and secluded Mediterranean-style home is located in the foothills of the suburban neighborhood of Sherman Oaks, California – a celebrity house-hunting hot spot. With its oasis-style backyard and gorgeous interior filled with character, the residence was the perfect choice for first-time buyer Demi.

Demi bought the place while on tour with the Jonas Brothers, just before entering a rehab facility in November of the same year. The perfect place to rest and recharge, the Spanish-style home is walled and gated for total privacy. Built in 1928, it benefits from just over 4,000 square feet of inside space. The formal living room is one of the home's nicest spaces, thanks to its European fireplace, huge arched windows and vaulted ceiling with exposed trusses.

There's also a sunken wet bar, an office with a built-in desk, a formal dining room with a large picture window overlooking the yard, a traditional kitchen, four bedrooms and six bathrooms, including a spacious master suite with a fireplace, two walk-in closets and an ensuite with a window-side tub. The room opens out to a small terrace with views across the San Fernando Valley.

Outside you'll find a detached one-bedroom guesthouse where Demi is said to have stayed when they wanted privacy from the rest of the family. The backyard is packed with tropical trees and there's also a patio, a tiered yard, a sports court and a heated swimming pool with a waterfall. In November 2020, Demi listed the house for $2.6 million and it sold in January 2021.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his mom, Ata Johnson

Since quitting pro-wrestling, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has quickly become everyone's favorite action hero. Thanks to roles in the likes of the Fast & Furious franchise, Jumanji and Baywatch, The Rock is now the world's highest-paid actor, according to Forbes, and his net worth is thought to be as much as $800 million. The star has always looked after his family, especially his mother, Ata, who was once a professional wrestler herself.

In June 2022, The Rock took to Instagram to share a video of him surprising his mum with a brand-new house. In the post, he explained that it took him and his design team eight weeks to get the property move-in ready. “Mom, there’s no greater feeling than to make you happy – welcome home," he said in the post. The residence, in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles, cost the star a fraction under $3.5 million.

There's also a space that The Rock dubbed the “Smackdown Room", showcasing memorabilia from the star's WWE and movie career.

Venus Williams and mother, Oracene

Iconic sports star Venus Williams has enjoyed an incredibly successful career as a professional tennis player. The former world No. 1 has won seven Grand Slam singles titles, including five at Wimbledon and two at the US Open, making her one of the all-time greats of the sport. Today, she's thought to be worth $95 million and she's used her money to snap up various lovely homes over the years, including one in Jupiter, Florida, that she gifted to her mother, Oracene Williams.

The Keyes Company

Venus bought the place in 2000, paying a remarkably low $310,000. She lived there for over a decade before handing over the keys to her mother in September 2013, according to Redfin. For legal reasons, Oracene reportedly had to pay Venus $10 in order to gain ownership of the property – that's not a bad price for a stunning retreat in the exclusive Jupiter Farms neighborhood of Palm Beach County.

The Keyes Company

The lovely rural retreat was constructed in 1998 and spans more than 2,800 square feet. It was extensively renovated by Venus in 2003, but still retains much of its classic charm. From its tiled floors to its European-inspired fireplaces, French doors and spiral staircase, there's plenty of personality inside this Florida estate.

The house has a grand entryway, four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen with granite counters and a dining room and sitting room separated by a dual-sided fireplace. The master suite opens up to a gorgeous private balcony overlooking the yard, while the expansive ensuite boasts a jetted tub, gold fixtures and a marble floor. There's also a dry sauna, which Venus no doubt made full use of after her many battles on the tennis court.

The pad even comes with a lovely indoor swimming pool and a lush one-acre yard that's surrounded by palms – although there's no tennis court! In June 2020, the house was sold for $545,000, so it looks like Oracene might have moved on to pastures new.

Leonardo DiCaprio and his mother, Irmelin Indenbirken

Any fan of Hollywood icon Leonardo DiCaprio will know that he absolutely adores his mother, Irmelin. In fact, the Don't Look Up star has taken her to numerous red carpet events over the years, including the 1993 Golden Globes when he was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? In May 2021, Leo decided to show the number one lady in his life exactly how much she means to him, by buying her an amazing new house...

Leo bought his mom a Hollywood mansion

Leo bought the home from Modern Family actor, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who paid just under $4.6 million for the estate back in 2013. According to the listing, the property was on the market for just one week before Leo put down $7.1 million and handed the keys over to his mum! Amazingly, both Robert Pattinson and rock star Gwen Stefani have also called the place home, and it's said to be just 30 minutes away from Leo's own pad.

Compass / Todd Goodman

Built in 1928, the property stretches a generous 5,000 square feet, with features including an imposing rotunda-style entryway with an original terracotta floor, a sweeping wrought-iron staircase and an intricately stenciled ceiling. The residence includes several one-of-a-kind living rooms, some with steel-framed glass doors, Juliette balconies, rustic timber beams and Tudor-style light fixtures.

Compass / Todd Goodman

Every room is full of characterful design details and Jesse Tyler Ferguson is said to have called in the help of former Will & Grace set decorator Peter Gurski to transform the formerly all-white spaces. Key details include original beehive floors, European stone fireplaces, hand-stenciled ceilings and stained glass windows. There are four bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a luxurious eat-in kitchen, family room and media room.

The home's exterior is also impressive, with plenty of space for reclining, sunbathing and dining, and unobstructed views across the Hollywood Hills. There are shaded courtyards, manicured lawns and romantic patios, while other amazing extras include the home's meditation and yoga room, tranquil observation deck, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and outdoor powder room. Yet this isn't the only property that Leonardo DiCaprio has purchased for a family member...

Leonardo DiCaprio and his dad, George DiCaprio

Not wanting to leave his father George DiCaprio (center) out, Leo bought him a romantic, Tudor-inspired manor in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2018. The home previously belonged to Leo's personal friend, DJ and musician Moby. The Titanic star paid Moby $4.9 million for the pad, which was reportedly $400,000 over the original asking price.

Nestled on an idyllic 9,700-square-foot lot, bordered by the 4,300-acre Griffith Park, the residence is known as Red Oak Manor and dates back to 1926. Boasting plenty of curb appeal and charming period details, the luxurious and light-filled home measures 4,644 square feet, with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

An experienced real estate flipper, Moby was responsible for transforming the property. Every room is effortlessly chic, with eye-catching architectural features including original groin vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, custom millwork and fireplace mantels.

The near 100-year-old property comes complete with numerous living spaces, a luxurious kitchen with a walk-in pantry and breakfast nook, a formal dining room and a media room that opens up to a large outdoor living area. There are also two gorgeous master suites, kitted out with marble bathrooms and large walk-in closets, along with a gym, a guest suite with its own entrance and a secluded yard with a swimming pool and spa.

One of the home's gorgeous bedrooms comes with a lofted yoga studio, where Leo's dad doubtless spent plenty of time unwinding. In March 2022, Dirt reported that Leo had sold the house to American singer, songwriter and actor Miguel, who paid $10,000 less than Leo paid four years before. The property was originally listed for $5.7 million, but after struggling to find a buyer, the price was chopped.

Rihanna and her mother, Monica Braithwaite

A singer whose impressive career has spanned more than 15 years, Rihanna is now a bonafide entrepreneur, with her cosmetics line, Fenty Beauty, helping her to become a billionaire at the age of 34. From her secret London mansion to her two neighboring homes in Beverly Hills, Rihanna is no stranger to amazing real estate. But she's also generous with her fortune, snapping up a house in Barbados for her mother Monica in 2012.

Pretending she planned to interview her for her show, Next Chapter, Oprah invited Monica to the house. But when she arrived, Rihanna revealed that instead of an interview, her mum would instead be walking away with the keys to the property. "It's always been a dream to buy my mother a house...I worked and worked and now I'm here," Rihanna said during the episode. Monica was over the moon that her first guest was none other than Oprah!

Around Mother’s Day in 2013, Beyoncé reportedly purchased this luxurious mansion for her mother, Tina. The colossal 23,562-square-foot property is located in Houston, Texas, where Bey spent her teenage years. Yet the singer's childhood home seems very modest compared to this lavish estate. With its imposing façade decorated with columns, and an interior overflowing with luxe fixtures, this home was made for a VIP.

The house reportedly set Bey back $5.9 million. However, it looks like the estate didn’t belong to Tina for long. Just a year after it was bought, the house was back on the market, with a reduced asking price of $5.5 million. Proving hard to shift, the house was finally sold in November 2015 for an undisclosed sum. If the exterior wasn't impressive enough, then just take a look at the home's entrance foyer.

The family is said to remain close in spite of her parent's divorce in 2016, and Zendaya still lived with her father until recently, despite boasting her own impressive property portfolio. Though the Spiderman star continues to rise in fame, she has no intentions of leaving her family behind her, and has even bought her father a house...

Taylor Swift and her parents, Andrea and Scott

Worth a jaw-dropping $600 million, Taylor Swift is one high earning Nashville-originating crooner. Having sold 200 million albums worldwide, earning $150 million in touring years, Swift reportedly owns $90 million worth of real estate. It comes as no surprise, then, that she has joined the list of generous celebs who’ve splashed out on property for their fortunate parents.
