The actress started her career on the stage before later making her silver screen debut in the 1992 movie Lorenzo's Oil.
Before guest-starring in Frasier, she'd already appeared in a string of movies, including The Truman Show (1998) and the Christmas classic Love Actually (2003).

A critically acclaimed Broadway star, Neuwirth had no desire to work in television and was initially slated to appear in just one episode of Cheers. However, the show's writers convinced her to stay on, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Before Cheers and Frasier catapulted Grammer to global fame, he'd had roles in the TV shows Ryan's Hope and Another World, as well as appearing in the made-for-TV movie Macbeth.
